Compost your Summer - Celebrate the Equinox

Compost your Summer - Celebrate the Equinox

Hey - Tyler here. I'm not sure about you but this summer was a wild one. Trump. More climate and biodiversity challenges across the board, and Willow stepping back.

I've known Willow for over 3 years since beginning of my regenerative journey with Kiran at Regen Sydney and was working nearly daily with her from March 2024 to continue to build the network around regeneration.

She's given me her blessing for me to continue this work - and so we start again.

If you want to learn a bit about me, check out this post.

Queanbeyan

For our February field trip Regen Places Convenors visited Queanbeyan, Central Coast, Shepherd Ground, Mid North Coast and Brisbane

Queanbeyan was one place that Bill Mollison visited regularly in the development of Permaculture. Stina, Regen Queanbeyan Convenor has spent her life hosting amazing individuals like Bill and developing an affordable living model. As we are deep in a housing crisis considering new ways of living is critical, this Friday we are hosting an event on the equinox and would love to see you there online or in Queanbeyan.

Hunter: Shepherd's Ground and the Story of Place

Next stop was Shepherd's Ground, an intentional community where beloved Anarkali lives.

We ran a beautiful community session about the story of place, in the bioregion around the Hunter Valley.

We talked about, when does the, when does, how does Maitland feel compared to Newcastle, and how does Maitland feel compared to Bulahdelah, as we had community member from up that way.

The story of place for the Hunter Valley will be starting up in the next couple of weeks. So if this is around where you live, please reach out, as we'd love to involve you in that process.

Mid-North Coast

A big drive up to the mid-north coast to meet with a community-owned trust to talk about the potential of regenerative practice for a community in a small rural town where people, where young people generally leave and drain the energy out of a place such as in Dorrigo.

We had a beautiful conversation, and we're looking forward to continuing that and exploring how regeneration in the North Coast might take place through Catherine and Karla from Regen MNC

We then dropped in to see Dan, the architect of the community-owned trust that have a Health and Medical Center as well as housing and explored the potential of modular housing and power generation.

Regeneration needs to consider the financial viability and there was a how might we create viability for bioregional regeneration through the intersections of regenerative tourism to have a self-sufficient Animal Hospital located next to the Great Koala National Park

Northern Rivers & Brisbane
